It’s been twenty years since Ken and I hiked out to Peterson Lake Cabin. Before the Silverbow Inn, before the marriage and the three kids, we loved living in Juneau for places such as this.
The cabin is pristine, has a propane heater and a wood stove, a row boat we tooled around on, our own personal lake and the nicest outhouse I’ve ever sat in. The best part is this cabin is located just 24 miles from the Inn. It’s a four-mile pretty easy but muddy hike but well worth the solitude. Mostly, thought it was falling in love with Juneau, again.
Next time you come stay at the Silverbow Inn, be sure to ask us about the Peterson Lake Public Use Cabin – we’ll give you detailed instructions on how to get there. We pride ourselves in having the best insider tips on the special things to do and see in Juneau, Alaska.
