Glacier Salt Cave & Spa is the first business in Juneau offer halotherapy services. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, the spa defines it as “the respiration of micronized dry salt particles for health.” First developed in mid-19th century Poland, salt therapy has been found effective in improving lung health as well as certain skin conditions. The dry sodium chloride aerosol has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help treat respiratory ailments, ear infections, and troubled skin. During your session, you’ll relax in their treatment room, the walls and floors of which are covered with Himalayan salt. Dry salt aerosols are also dispersed through the room. From there, all you need to do is rest and unwind. It’s just that easy!

Their cave sessions start every hour, on the hour. They also offer a mid-day service which begins at noon or 12:30. Walk-in clients are welcome. A one-hour session in the salt cave is just $39. Children are free on Thursdays with a paying parent. If you’d prefer to rent the room for a special event, they can accommodate up to 18 guests.
